Wilkes University Soccer

Hi, my name is Kirsten Smith (I’m on the left in the banner) and I am a junior starting my first professional year in Pharmacy at Wilkes University for the upcoming fall semester. I have had the pleasure of playing on the Wilkes Women’s soccer team for the past 2 years. Being apart of the soccer team while pursuing my goal to be a Pharmacist has been challenging, but definitely rewarding. My teammates continue to keep me sane, while Coach has helped me to become a better soccer player and individual overall. With all the ups and downs our team has experienced together, I’ve grown to call my team my family away from home.

While some may be sad summer is coming to an end, I know my team and I are more excited than ever. The anticipation for our tour to Italy has been ongoing, and it seems surreal that our countdown is almost finally here. We are grateful to have the opportunity to play soccer in Italy, because it’s an experience not many get to have. During our tour in Italy: we will gain unforgettable memories that will only strengthen our bond as a team, we will learn about a new culture, and we will enhance our perspective on life as individuals.

I will be blogging our daily endeavors, in order for our family, friends, and fans to share and experience our time, along with us, in Italy. Upon our return to Wilkes we hope to take our experiences into preseason and work hard to fulfill our goal of winning the MAC championship this year.
